Journey deep into the heartland of Budj Bim National Park and the Kurtonitj Indigenous Protected Area on this half-day bushwalking tour led by Guditjmara Aboriginal guides. The tour begins with a visit to the Kurtonitj Indigenous Protected Area.
Step onto the sacred, world heritage listed site to learn about the creation story and admire unique geological features as told by cultural elders. See ancient stone kooyang (eel) traps and stone channels, remnants of stone house sites and kooyang smoking trees.
Next, you’ll head over to Budj Bim National Park for a morning tea break and time to explore a volcanic crater called ‘Lake Surprise’ where guides will recount the legend of Budj Bim. The guided bushwalk continues to see lava tunnels, caves and wildlife in the lush forest.
